The economic impact of Europa-Park on the Ortenau-Emmendingen region is extremely high, amounting to 276 million euros annually. This is the result of a study. In the town of Rust alone, more than 88 million euros are spent annually, triggered by Europa Park.
The internationally renowned Institute for Systemic Management and Public Governance at the University of St. Gallen examined the significance of Europa-Park. One of the results: Europa-Park triggers 1.7 million overnight stays outside Europa-Park every year, and more than 1.2 million are added at the Europa-Park Resort - that makes about three million overnight stays.
The study also shows the strong regional anchoring as an employer as well as a purchasing policy oriented towards regional service providers and suppliers. Roland Mack: “The figures prove that our long-standing strategy of sourcing as many services as possible directly from the region is very important, sustainable and forward-looking.”
