How is sustainable architecture implemented at the Europa-Park Resort?
Ann-Kathrin Mack: For us, sustainability in construction means, on the one hand, the classic use of sustainable materials such as wood. The entire roof of our Rulantica Water World rests on large wooden beams from the Black Forest Highlands. We always pay attention to the ecological compatibility of our construction measures and try to recycle building materials as much as possible. But sustainability in architecture is much more than that: it is, for example, also the good and fair treatment of our employees and the companies with whom we have been implementing projects, in some cases for many years.
Which examples stand out in particular?
Mack: There are certainly many examples. As a representative example, I would like to mention the construction of the staff flats with a day-care centre and kindergarten. Sustainability also includes the well-being of the employees. That is why our staff flats have a very high standard. Satisfied employees ultimately lead to satisfied guests.
