Castle Park

Europa-Park is also characterised by its centuries-old tree population and its many green spaces. With every expansion, care is taken to interfere as little as possible with this heritage and rather to integrate these areas into new concepts. The castle park was laid out over centuries by the aristocratic Böcklin family, who also built Balthasar Castle, which today belongs to Europa-Park. This green lung combines, among other things, gnarled oaks, tall chestnut trees and wide-spreading plane trees. Europa-Park continues the tradition of the aristocrats who have long resided in Rust. Thus, trees are deliberately planted that are not found everywhere. If you walk through the park, you will find some exotic plants such as goddess trees, amber trees, tulip trees or handkerchief trees. Even more than 30 sequoia trees seek their way to the clouds.

In order to provide the best possible conditions for man-made nature, even high-tech is used: a computercontrolled sprinkler system supplies around 80 percent of the plants with exactly the amount of water they need at any given time via pipes laid underground.
