Saving water

Europa-Park, Rulantica, hotels: Germany’s largest theme park is careful with water, the elixir of life, everywhere. For example, a filter technology in the Rulantica water world recycles around 80 per cent of the wastewater. As a result, only 20 per cent fresh water is needed for daily operations. Another special feature is a sophisticated technology in the outdoor area that pumps around 400 cubic metres of water into an underground tank. There, the water retains its original temperature, comparable to a thermos flask.

In its hotels, Europa-Park particularly relies on technology from Hansgrohe, a leading global sanitary manufacturer. Through the addition of air and a special flow limitation, its technology significantly reduces water consumption in fittings and showers.

Water is also saved wherever possible at Europa-Park. One example is the popular log flume ride. Thanks to a system devised by Europa-Park owner Roland Mack, featuring an additional water circuit, it has been possible to reduce water and energy consumption by around 50 per cent compared to comparable facilities in the USA.
