As far back as ancient Egypt, the light-coloured spears were known as “the food of the gods” and only the pharaohs were allowed to eat them. Today, asparagus is a culinary delight for everyone. From April to June, this celebrated delicacy is in season and of course also at Europa-Park Resort. In the Medici restaurant of the Colosseo 4-star superior hotel, the motto from 8 May onwards is: “Asparagus galore”! On a total of six Sundays until June 12, a three-course menu will be served there between 12 and 2 pm under the motto “Asparagus to your heart’s content”.
The culinary inspiration ranges from creative to classical. Of course there will be asparagus with Hollandaise sauce, but also so much more that you never dreamed of. The chefs of the Medici conjure up delicate creations with green and white asparagus accompanied with unusual side dishes. Savour asparagus in a myriad of ways and sit back in elegant surroundings remembering that this was once a delicacy reserved for the Pharaohs.
