50 years of Europa-Park

A trip to the United States gave Franz Mack and his son Roland the idea and the Europa-Weiher pond in the region inspired the name: Europa-Park opened its gates on 12 July 1975. Hardly anyone believed in its success at the beginning – 50 years later, millions and millions of guests have already visited Europa-Park, which was honoured for the ninth time in 2024 with the industry's highest accolade, the ‘Golden Ticket Award’ as the ‘Best Theme Park in the World’. The 150 millionth visitor is even expected in 2025.

Celebrate under the stars

The ‘50 years of Europa-Park’ anniversary season is being celebrated with a new attraction, special promotions and many events. Motto: ‘Celebrate under the stars’. In addition to a very lavishly renovated parade with floats and dancers in unique choreographies and costumes, the anniversary year offers many new performances such as the stunt show centred around masked man Zorro in the now covered Spanish Arena. On 12 July, Europa-Park's birthday, and on 23 August, the tenth anniversary of the Europa-Park Junior Club, visitors can look forward to fun-packed days until midnight.

The Europa-Park experience resort has chosen ‘Celebrate under the stars’ as a worthy motto for its half-century anniversary. Guests will experience numerous magical surprises and unforgettable events. One of the absolute highlights is the animated film ‘GRAND PRIX OF EUROPE’, in which the mascots Ed and Edda and other Europa-Park characters can be seen in cinemas around the world the summer. The film is being produced by Michael Mack: ‘It should also appeal to people who have no connection to Europa-Park.’

The Europa-Park zeppelin returns

A new interactive family attraction called ‘GRAND PRIX EDventure’ is opening in the Luxembourg-themed area to coincide with the big cinema adventure. The Europa-Park zeppelin is also returning for the anniversary celebration. Decorated with the mascots Ed Euromaus and Edda Euromausi on a white hull, the 75-metre long airship will be circling over the Lake Constance region until mid November. It will also be hovering over Europa-Park from 11 to 14 July 2025. In addition, there will be Zeppelin flight competitions on Europa-Park’s social media channels throughout the year.

The show programme has also been redesigned. The European mindset is also at the forefront, for example, with various themed festivals. These festivals will present the culture and cuisine of European countries. To round off the anniversary year, DJ BoBo will kick off his new tour in the Europa-Park Arena in January 2026.
