Feast like the knights of old: guests can experience an original knights' banquet at Europa-Park. Presented by the lord of the castle, an opulent four-course menu is served in Balthasar Castle, with specialities such as smoked salmon, wood-fired bread and crusty roast – stylishly presented by servants and maids in medieval costumes. For four decades, the ‘Alemannisches Rittermahl’ (Almannic Medieval Banquet) at Europa-Park has been inviting visitors to a special historical experience. The banquet was first held at Balthasar Castle in October 1984 and has since developed into an extremely popular evening event. Since its inception, about 250,000 guests have visited the medieval-style banquet on more than 3,000 occasions. On select evenings, visitors are also taken on a journey in the footsteps of the knights of old with drama, humour and interactive interludes, always with accompaniment by historical musicians, dancers and jugglers.
