In the 4-star Superior "Colosseo" hotel, a suite has been created that is more than just exclusive accommodation. It is a place that commemorates a very special moment in the history of Europa-Park: the opening ceremony for the hotel in June 2004. Claudia Cardinale was the star guest at that event – an icon of European cinema, who gave the building glamour and a touch of Italian style right from the start.
"I can feel how much love has gone into creating a little piece of Italy here”
A limousine pulled up in front of the "Colosseo" back then, and Roland Mack was there to greet the actress in person. During the symbolic handover of the key, Cardinale was visibly moved and said: "I can feel how much love has gone into creating a little piece of Italy here." She spent the night following the opening ceremony in the hotel – and now one of the suites has been redesigned in her honour.
The new room combines classical Italian flair with memories of the extraordinary career of the film diva. Photographs, references to her films and stylish details pay tribute to an actor who created film history with movies such as "The Leopard" and "Once Upon a Time in the West". Claudia Cardinale embodies strength, elegance and independence – characteristics that also give the suite its particular aura.
Although she passed away in September 2025 at the age of 87, her connection with Europa-Park is being kept alive. In addition to a star on the "Walk of Fame" on our French film street, the Claudia Cardinale Suite is a permanent memorial to her.
